Sir Edmond Gin
This Dutch gin is infused with vanilla pods from Réunion Island, and also features juniper, angelica root, cardamom, ginger, and cinnamon. The sweetness of the vanilla comes through clearly on the palate, while its earthiness is complemented by the juniper and cardamom.
It is named after Edmond Albius. He was born into slavery and became an important figure in the cultivation of vanilla. At the age of 12, he invented a technique for pollinating vanilla orchids quickly and profitably.
Gary @ GF “I’m a huge fan of Vanilla, so it’s no surprise this is in my list of favourites! The vanilla taste is definitely prevalent - the smell, and initial taste doesn't hide! It also has a slight sweetness. Savour this with a premium plain tonic, plenty of ice, a slice of orange and a stick of cinnamon”
